Reiki is a spiritual discipline developed by Sensei Mikao Usui at the beginning of the last century. After a period of spiritual retreat and isolation on the Mount Kurama, he was able to bring to the world this incredible and powerful healing practice.

The translation of the term Rei-Ki could be associated with “universal energy”, because Rei 霊 means “extraordinary, spiritual or mysterious” and the kanji Ki 気 means “energy.” The energy Rei is what we metabolize for living and what we use both as personal energy and as the energy we need to accomplish what we do in life. The energy Ki could be associated with the Prana, the vital energy present in all the universe’s matter and lives. The more we let this energy flow through our body, the healthier and more aware we become, in order to be able to experience joy and abundance in accomplishing our own life mission. Nevertheless, this path towards ourselves is also a path of profound connection with the whole and with all living beings, too.

Dr. Mikao Usui, Dr. Chujirio Hayashi and Madam Hawayo Takata are the great masters of Reiki, who actually contributed to spread this discipline around the world by educating the masters that are nowadays continuing their mission. Thanks to their lifelong effort and practice, we can now find a great number of Reiki practitioners around the world.

Reiki was born from a combination of traditional alternative healing methods present in Japan and in the Shintoist-Buddhist philosophical context. Furthermore, the social context in Japan during the early ’20s was strongly influenced by the “New Thought” of Phineas Quimby. The concept that for healing the body we need to heal the mind first comes from the union of several influences of the Japanese’s phylosophical context and the occidental discoveries about healing. “Federico Scotti – Seminar 2021”

Reiki treatments

The treatments take place in a warm and cozy atmosphere with clothes on. The practitioners’ hands are placed in several body parts, depending on the specific needs of the receiver. Reiki is working at the holistic level, bringing balance in all the aspect of yourself: physical, mental and spiritual.

Reiki is beneficial for physical problems, pain, emotional and mental issues, insomnia and many more issues. Of course Reiki is optimal even when you feel good and you just want to keep in good shape.

Reiki works as a therapy, therefore it could be done both once in a while and regularly for light issues and maintenance. In case of more serious imbalances, a more regular practice is suggested in order to gently support you in the healing process.

This kind of therapy could be done in person or by distance, because Reiki can be practiced through time and space using a specific technique. The results and the effects are the same as the ones of the treatment in person, with the difference that the practitioner and the patient could be everywhere in the world.
